Player Engagement: How Long Did Players Stay?

  • 4+ hours: 4 respondents

  • 2 to 4 hours: 1 respondent

  • 1 to 2 hours: 1 respondent

Players generally spent a solid amount of time playing Mystery Society, with most playing for over 4 hours. Some had positive experiences with friends, while others faced challenges that limited their overall enjoyment. One player said they “enjoyed the game so far,” while another felt the game lacked replayability and stated, “I will probably never play it again.”

Game Recommendation: Is It Worth Sharing with Friends?

  • Yes: 5 respondents

  • No: 1 respondent

A majority of 83.3% recommended the game to friends. This suggests that, for most, Mystery Society was fun enough to share. However, one player commented that they “had to ask friends to play with me” due to server issues, indicating that group play made the game more enjoyable.

Would You Play Without Prizes?

  • No: 1 respondent

Interestingly, 83.3% of players would still play the game without prizes, which suggests that Mystery Society’s gameplay has enough merit to stand on its own. However, one player noted, “there isn’t anything special about the game,” suggesting that the experience could benefit from more depth to increase replayability.

Feature Ratings: What Did Players Like?

Here’s how players rated the key features of Mystery Society:

  • Ease of Access: 8.8/10 (Range: 6 to 10)

  • Controls: 8.5/10 (Range: 7 to 10)

  • Graphics: 8.7/10 (Range: 7 to 9)

  • Core Game Loop: 7.7/10 (Range: 4 to 10)

  • Map Variations: 6.8/10 (Range: 4 to 9)

The Ease of Access was highly rated, with an average of 8.8/10. Players found it easy to get started, and one said they were “enjoying the game” despite there being “only a few players” at the time. Controls also scored well at 8.5/10, although some felt that improvements could be made to enhance fluidity.

The graphics earned 8.7/10, with players appreciating the overall look and feel of the game. Core game loop feedback was more mixed, scoring 7.7/10. Some players found the tasks repetitive, with one tester mentioning “every task is the same, except the special one.”

Map variations were rated the lowest at 6.8/10, with players wanting more diversity. One tester noted, “running around the whole map just to find a tool” was frustrating, calling for a more streamlined experience.

What Feedback Did Players Give?

  1. Server IssuesPlayers consistently highlighted server issues, which impacted the overall experience. “Servers have been a nightmare,” one player mentioned, while another suggested that if a host leaves, the control should switch to another player to avoid disruptions. Addressing server stability will greatly improve the gameplay experience.

  2. Lack of Variety in GameplaySome players mentioned that the game feels repetitive. One tester said, “every task is the same,” calling for more varied and engaging gameplay. More activities or objectives beyond just clue-finding and killing could help retain player interest.

  3. Customization and Map VariationsPlayers requested more map variations and features. One player suggested adding more variety, “rather than just finding clues and killing guests.” Introducing more diverse and creative tasks or challenges within the game would improve the overall experience.

  4. Potential for GrowthDespite the issues, players saw potential for the game to evolve. “Looking forward to more updates and growth,” said one player, reflecting optimism for Mystery Society’s future. With a solid foundation, updates introducing more content and features could significantly boost engagement.

Is Mystery Society Worth Your Time?

For gamers, Mystery Society offers a solid experience, particularly when played with friends. If you enjoy clue-based games and team play, this could be a fun option for a few hours of gameplay. However, the game could benefit from more variety in tasks and map design to improve long-term engagement.

For developers, addressing server stability and expanding on gameplay mechanics would make the game more attractive to players. Adding more diverse tasks and improving map variations could greatly enhance replayability.
