SOL Arena – Snake Reborn on Solana | Community Tested

Each week, our Discord community dives into a new game, tests it out, and shares honest feedback. This time we slithered into SOL Arena, a Solana-based multiplayer arcade game that reimagines the snake format with blockchain spice. Players dash around collecting noCHILL, avoiding rivals, and extracting through wormholes in a race to survive.

Here’s how it landed with the team:

How much did players actually play?

  • 4+ Hours – 3 players

  • 2-4 Hours – 13 players

  • 1-2 Hours – 22 players

  • 0-1 Hour – 5 players

Safe to say this wasn’t a game people bounced off immediately. Most gave it a solid spin, with a handful sticking around to test their slither skills.

Did players recommend it to friends?

  • Yes – 39 players

  • No – 4 players

That’s an overwhelmingly positive referral rate. Always a good sign.

Did questing and rewards help with motivation?

  • Yes – 14 players

  • No – 29 players

This was the most lopsided response. While the core gameplay drew people in, rewards didn’t do much to keep them hooked.

Gameplay Impressions

Ease of Access (Avg: 8.8)

Most players found the game easy to get into, with a clean interface and straightforward goals.

“Classic.”

Controls (Avg: 8.9)

Controls were intuitive for most, although a few flagged frustrations with precision.

“Would have been nice if we could use directional pad on keyboard to move.”

Graphics (Avg: 8.8)

No frills, but visually polished. Colorful enough to stand out.

“Classic arcade vibe. Clean and sharp.”

Core Game Loop (Avg: 8.5)

Slither. Grab. Escape. Repeat. The simplicity worked, but the longevity varied.

“Was fun for like 5 minutes, then I remembered why I hated snake on my Nokia.”

Story (Avg: 8.6)

Not the most story-driven game, but players gave surprisingly high marks for narrative effort.

“Fun concept. Not my genre but decent background.”

Team Differences (Avg: 8.7)

Most felt there was meaningful variation in playstyles depending on loadout and approach.

“Strategy comes from how you approach other players—not just moving fast.”

Notable Comments

  • “The game control is pretty bad.”

  • “Game was good for the first 10–15 minutes but got boring very fast.”

  • “Would love more tactical variety.”

  • “The game is awesome and challenging.”

Final Thoughts

SOL Arena is a fun, fast-paced arcade battler that brought back memories of slither.io—with a crypto twist. Most players enjoyed the gameplay loop and visual style, even if the novelty wore off quickly for a few. The reward structure might need a rethink, but the game's foundation is solid.

Great for bursts of fun. Maybe not built for long sessions.
