🧑‍🍳 Zip Clash – Community Tested | Cooking, Trading & Planet Management… with Resource Caps?

Introduction

Each week, we dive into a new game with our Discord community, playing together, testing its mechanics, and gathering real player feedback. This time, we took on Zip Clash, a play-to-earn (P2E) Web3 game that combines farming, cooking, and planet management with a trading economy. Players manage planets, upgrade kitchens, cook food, and deliver orders to earn rewards.

After playing, our community filled out a feedback form, and here’s what they had to say.

How much did players actually play?

  • 4+ Hours – 15 players

  • 2-4 Hours – 13 players

  • 1-2 Hours – 7 players

  • Less than 1 Hour – 2 players

Most players spent a solid amount of time in Zip Clash, suggesting that the game holds appeal, especially for those who enjoy resource management and simulation mechanics. However, a few players found progression slower than expected. As one player put it, “The game was fun, but the daily resource limits made it hard to progress quickly.”

Did players recommend the game to their friends?

  • Yes – 27 players

  • No – 6 players

A strong recommendation rate! Many enjoyed the cooking and trading mechanics, though some noted that the daily resource limits slowed down progression. One player mentioned, “I enjoyed the challenge of managing orders and upgrading my kitchen. It’s simple, addictive, and perfect for quick gaming sessions.”

Did the questing and rewards encourage players to keep playing?

  • Yes – 25 players

  • No – 8 players

The majority of players found the rewards system engaging, but some wanted more daily tasks or faster progression options. One noted, “The game was fun and engaging, but I wish there were more ways to speed up resource collection.”

Gameplay Impressions

Ease of Access (Average Score: 8.5)

Most players found the game easy to pick up, with intuitive UI and clear mechanics. Some beginners mentioned needing a better tutorial to navigate upgrades efficiently. “It’s fun once you get into it, but I felt lost at the start,” said one player.

Controls (Average Score: 8.3)

Players generally found the controls easy to use, though a few mentioned minor issues with managing their planets and resources smoothly. A player mentioned, “It’s mostly smooth, but selecting certain menus can feel clunky.”

Graphics (Average Score: 8.7)

The game’s visuals were well-received, with colorful planets and charming character designs. Some players wanted a bit more variety in animations. One review summed it up: “The graphics are great, but some more unique animations would help keep it fresh.”

Core Game Loop (Average Score: 8.0)

The balance between cooking, delivering, and upgrading kept most players engaged. However, several players found the resource limitations a bit restrictive. “Progression feels slow because you hit a limit on how much you can do per day,” one player noted.

Story (Average Score: 7.2)

While not a major focus, the background narrative and galactic setting were enjoyable for players who paid attention to them. One player commented, “I didn’t care too much about the story, but the setting is fun.”

Progression (Average Score: 7.8)

Some players loved the sense of progress, while others found it slow due to daily limits on resources and recipes. A player pointed out, “The game was fun, but I kept running into timers and resource caps, which slowed things down.”

Final Thoughts

Zip Clash delivered an enjoyable cooking and planet management experience, keeping players engaged with its Web3 economic layer. However, the daily resource limits and progression speed were common concerns. Players particularly enjoyed the graphics, cooking mechanics, and social trading aspects, while resource bottlenecks and slow leveling were the main areas for improvement.

As one player put it, “It’s a chill game that’s not too grindy, but the waiting for resources makes it feel slower than it should be.” Another added, “The gameplay is simple but addictive. It’s a fun mix of cooking and time management, perfect for anyone who enjoys a bit of kitchen chaos!”

Would we recommend it? Yes, but be ready to pace yourself—progression takes time!
